Our History in Medical Simulation

For over 80 years we have made medical simulation possible and accessible to all.

In 1941, Nasco was started by Norman Eckley, an agricultural teacher who developed education tools to support his students from his farm.

Later in 1963, first responder Kevin Sweeney began making imitation wounds in his basement in Woodstock. He received a military contract to produce moulage kits and the company Simulaids® was born. From there, he quickly expanded the company’s portfolio to include CPR manikins and our flagship product, Rescue Randy.

In 1969, the Life/form® brand emerged with their plastic molding abilities to provide further training solutions like our CPR trainers which are aimed at better preparing the first responders to be ready in times of crisis. Nasco purchased both companies in 1999, and Nasco Healthcare was born.

For over 80 years we have made medical simulation possible and accessible to all. We have been guided by our deep heritage in education, hand-made moulage wounds, rugged manikins for crisis training and advanced patient simulation scenarios that are based on real life.
